A male client was looking to have 4 custom cushions made for his outdoor patio set. There was a total of 3 boxed cushions that had one right angle and the other side was curved to fit the base it would sit on. There was only one boxed square cushion that would fit in with the set.
The client had purchased a roll of water resistant material in coral. He also supplied the foam, batting and adhesive spray. The seamstress had provided the piping, thread and zippers.
First the seamstress had put together the foam pieces and batting using the adhesive spray provided. Next, the seamstress used her own black nylon material to create the piping from her roll of 3/8 wide cording. Once the piping was finished, next was laying out the 2 foam sizes onto the material and tracing out all of the pieces.
After all the pieces were traced out, the seamstress cut them from the material. Next the zippers were sewn on all of the panels after the edges were overlocked. The seamstress then sewed all of the piping on one of the larger faces for all four cushions. She used a zipper foot to get as close as possible to the cording. Once all of the piping was sewn on, next was to pin all of the sides in place, stitch all around then add the other large face.
Once all of the cushions were stitched around twice for reinforcement, all seams were serged to keep from fraying. All of the covers were turned right side out and the seamstress filled them with the foams.
The client was contacted to pick them up. He was extremely pleased and excited to use them for his backyard.
