A male client was looking to change his indoor cushion covers to new material he had purchased. He had provided the original cushion foams which had the previous covers over them. There were 2 large rectangular boxes cushions, 2 bolster pillows and 1 square pillow. He also supplied the zippers.
The seamstress began the project by removing the original covers off the foams. The pattern for each cushion was made by measuring and tracing the foams to ensure it would fit accurate and snug.
Once all of the pieces were cut from the material for the 2 larger cushions, the seamstress had sewed on the zippers and then pinned all of the pieces in place, making sure all sides and corners matched. The pieces were all sewn around twice for reinforcement. Next was to serge the seams all around to prevent fraying.
The 2 large cushions were then completed. Next was to cut the pieces for the 2 bolster pillows and 1 square pillow. Once all of the pieces were cut, the zippers were sewn on first and then all pieces were pinned in place ready to sew. Once all the seams were stitched, they were serged and turned right side out.
All 5 cushions were now completed and the client was contacted. He was very pleased with how they turned out and was looking forward to using them.
