A male client was looking to have a custom seat cushion made for his motorcycle. He had supplied the materials required which were vinyl, a gel pad and elastic. He brought the existing cushion which needed to be taken apart to have the new padding inside.

The seamstress had started by making a pattern for the vinyl to be cut and shaped to fit the padding. She then cut the gel pad into the shape of the seat to fit in between the vinyl and cushion. Once everything was cut, the next step was to sew on the 2 pieces for grip onto the vinyl. Next the vinyl was formed and ready to be stitched over the gel onto the existing cushion using a zipper foot. Before doing this step, the binding had to be taken off and re-sewn on to have a clean professional finish.

The final steps included sewing the straps back on to their original place width wise. Finally, the elastic was cut and sewn into the binding length wise to ensure it’s security over the seat.
The client was contacted once the cushion was completed. He was very pleased with the look of it and functionality.
