A male client inquired about having a backpack designed specifically for people who travel often and have experienced pick pocketing. He had provided a sample of the idea, and modifications were made throughout the process. The seamstress created all of the pattern pieces based on the measurements from the sample.
This backpack has a number of features that you most likely wouldn’t find from one at a store. The front flap has a hidden pocket underneath when released from the buckles. However, there is no access to the inside from the front. When worn, the opening is against the back, this ensures no one will be able to unzip the inside. Another hidden feature are two pockets inside both of the straps used for credit cards or anything valuable. Inside the backpack, the consumer will be able to put a lap top in the divider and a tablet on the opposite side which would be strapped with a buckle. There is also an RFID protection pocket above the divider made to fit a phone. To give the product support, shape and durability, a thicker material is sewn in at the bottom.
This would also prevent sharp objects from piercing through the bottom of the backpack. Lastly, when used for travelling, there is an elastic on the back where you will be able to slide the backpack through the locking handle of your carry on luggage.
The client was very pleased and excited with this first prototype, and had requested for more to be made by the seamstress.
