A male client inquired to have a custom vest made designed with a hip hop style influence. This product would be a new addition to his menswear line. He had provided the material which was ripstop nylon for the front exterior, jersey knit for the back exterior with his company’s logo printed on the material. Also, there was a thick felt like material which would be the padding, this would be inserted between the ripstop nylon and lining which was suede.
The vest would be easily fitted with 4 adjustable straps on each side. The loop pieces would be sewn on the vest, the hook pieces would be sewn on the 4 orange webbing straps provided. The production process began with creating the pattern using a reference the client gave the seamstress. Next was cutting the pieces and sewing them together. Adding the velcro was the final step, placed with adhesive and then sewn.
After the first prototype was completed, the client was contacted and very pleased with the finished look.
